Subject: Jack Lake Storm Damage
I have ask a few cottagers to send me picture of damage on the lake and below is link to collection of pictures.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/BNJdymP34pW2Qow86It is my belief that it is a well kept secret the extent of destruction to structures, vehicles and trees around Jack Lake which I sense is the most serious in the whole storm path acroos Ontario ...but nether the media nor elected officials are aware of the situation and challenges facing cottagers is disposing of stone debris.
I and others are pressing the Mayors of North Kawartha and Havelock Belmont Methuen to assist cottagers in establishing brush depot close to neighborhoods to faciltate brush and tree disposal. I predict it will take up to 2 years of effort to restore certain properties and islanders have special challenges.
The storm was 3 weeks ago and so far munciplaities are treating cottager with mostly a "business as usual approach" to disposal programs.
Possibly this collection of photos will catch the attention of our elected officails as I doubt if they are aware of the major undertaking required to clan up and repair properties and landscape.
